Back in 2003 or so, I went on the first Alamo Rolling Roadshow Deliverance canoe trip, wherein attendees rode canoes down the Guadalupe, ate roasted pig, and watched Deliverance after nightfall. It was there that I met Bill McKinney, the character actor now infamous for being the “squeal like a pig” guy. He died at the age of 80 last Thursday the 1st. He seemed like someone’s dirty old uncle. (That night, I heard more rape jokes than I’ll ever need to hear in two lifetimes.)
