Last Kinski + Herzog photo for the day: Klaus Kinski and Isabelle Adjani in a publicity photo for Nosferatu: Phantom der Nacht (aka Nosferatu the Vampyre).
I think that in general, I like Herzog’s crazy-man-vs.-the-jungle films better (among which Rescue Dawn can be counted), but there’s no denying that this is an excellent take on the hoary old vampire legend. The scenes of the rats swarming over the city of Wismar are particularly creepifying.

This isn’t on Netflix, sadly, but I will try to find it elsewhere for the upcoming Herzog film nights.
