Occasionally, I write original stuff and post it here. More commonly, this is where I store pictures of art, museum exhibits, film stills, and other stuff I find interesting.

Just when we’d barely started to recover from our last visit to the Department of Unexpected Interspecies Friendship along comes this awesome young pair. Please give us a moment to brace ourselves against something sturdy to cope with all the cuteness…
Meet Anzac the joey and Peggy the wombat. Someone happened upon Anzac, who is only five months old, alone in the wilds of the Macedon Ranges, no marsupial mum in sight. He was taken to the Wild about Wildlife Kilmore Rescue Centre where he was placed with Peggy the wombat, and the two now sleep together snug in the same cozy pouch.
“Lisa Milligan, from the Wild about Wildlife Kilmore Rescue Centre, said the unlikely friends were comforted by each other’s movement and heartbeat. ‘There are lots of baby animals about at the moment, and they are orphaned for a range of reasons,’ Ms Milligan said. She said the babies were developing their own personalities; Anzac was very social while Peggy was boisterous and cheeky.”

Seeing these two inspired another Unlikely Animal Buddies Day on Geyser of Awesome!
I’ve come back and looked at these pictures repeatedly this past week; they’ve gotten me through some very stressful days.
Oh my god, I can’t handle the cuteness!! *dead*

These photos are what inspired me to draw this.
