Check out this awesomely fluffy, multi-legged creature! For the time being, for lack of a proper scientific name, it has been casually tagged as a “Poodle Moth.” It was recently discovered in Venezuela by taxonomist Dr Arthur Anker who posted this photo on his Flickr page. Commenters reacted in disbelief, some going so far as to accuse the good doctor of faking his find.
“Looks like something out of a Harry Potter movie?” wrote one, while another posted: “It’s freaking adorable I want one!!!”
We think this white fuzzy Venezuelan native looks like something that might be charmed by Gandalf the Grey. We’d be more than happy to give it a cuddle if it was so inclined. But for all we know, this little guy is more interested in seeking out a tiny jeweled tiara to complement its fur coat than physical affection.
